Hogwarts Legacy Gets Multiplayer Support Unofficially, Here’s How It Works

Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and Avalanche Software’s Hogwarts Legacy has received unofficial multiplayer support. Here’s how it works.

The modders who worked on the multiplayer mode for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, known as Skyrim Together, have now released an early access version of their upcoming multiplayer mod for Hogwarts Legacy. The developers of the mod have shared gameplay videos that offer an early look at what kind of multiplayer experience fans can expect with this PC mod.

The video above shows 10 players exploring Hogwarts Legacy’s game world together, while the one below shows off outfit synchronization, which now also features Transmog. Currently, the Early Access mod is only available to the developer’s Patreon. However, the final release will eventually be available to download for free. The first test build is available to High Otter and King Otter tiers. Those who have access can already download the mod on the developer’s discord server.

Previously, it was reported that Hogwarts Legacy won’t be getting any DLC, although post launch support for the game is planned. Speaking during IGN Fan Fest 2023, Hogwarts Legacy game director Alan Tew explained that the development team currently has no DLC or expansion planned, as it had been occupied with bringing the game to life. However, plans may change in the future.

Despite there being no planned DLC for Hogwarts Legacy, the developer is actively providing post launch support via updates, with the recent one fixing several performance improvements and other lingering issues on consoles and PC. One of the key fixes was related to Owl Mail, which had a problem triggering sequential missions. This recent update has fixed this issue. Additionally, there were some rare crashes that occurred around certain in-game world events, which have been resolved.

Hogwarts Legacy is an action role-playing video game, developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment under its Portkey Games label, using the Unreal Engine.
