Skybound and developer Quarter Up have revealed the first post-launch fighters coming to Invincible VS, with Universa and The Immortal joining the roster when Season 1 begins on June 30.
The two characters mark the game’s first downloadable fighters and arrive alongside additional content, including a new Endless Arcade mode and fresh cosmetic items. The developer also shared a roadmap outlining plans for Seasons 2 and 3 later this year.
Universa enters the game as a technical fighter built around resource management and momentum. Known in the Invincible universe as the Chosen of her people, she wields the Staff of Leadership and draws power from energy absorption. In gameplay, her abilities revolve around building and managing a Boost Meter, with access to powerful Max Boost Specials once fully charged.
One of her standout abilities allows her to absorb incoming projectiles and convert them into additional Boost energy, making her particularly effective against opponents who rely heavily on ranged attacks.
The second newcomer, The Immortal, takes a much more aggressive approach. One of the oldest characters in the Invincible universe and current leader of the Guardians of the Globe, he specialises in closing distances quickly and maintaining constant offensive pressure.
His moveset focuses on fast attacks and combo potential, while his Install Super further increases his speed and offensive capabilities. True to his name, The Immortal also features a unique revive mechanic that allows him to return to battle once per match in a more aggressive state after being defeated.
Players attending Evo Las Vegas from June 26 to June 28 will be able to try both characters before their official release. Quarter Up will have playable builds available at its booth during the event.
The studio also confirmed that Invincible VS is serving as an official Evo tournament partner this year. Competitors will battle for a special prize, with the tournament winner receiving a life-sized Conquest Gauntlet trophy.
Alongside the character reveal, Quarter Up offered an early look at its content plans for the remainder of 2026. Season 1 launches on June 30 with Universa, The Immortal, Endless Arcade mode, and new cosmetics. Season 2, scheduled for October, will add another playable fighter, a new game mode, and additional cosmetic content.
The year will conclude with Season 3 in December, bringing another new fighter, a brand-new arena, and further cosmetic additions.
Invincible VS is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud through Xbox Play Anywhere.
