It Takes Two Has Sold More Than 1 Million Copies

Hazelight Studios has just released It Takes Two and it is already a success for them, selling more than 1 million copies across all platforms.

This news was shared by the official social media account of Hazelight Studios and echoed by Josef Fares, the game director of It Takes Two. He is well known for his work on co-op-focused games including Brother: A Tale of Two Sons, and A Way Out.

The game presents a unique premise by focusing its story and narrative on a couple who is going through a breakthrough while their daughter is attempting to mend this relationship. It is a fantastic co-op adventure game that is both smart and funny. Our reviewer gave it a 9.5 out of 10 calling it a great couple therapy.

“Despite having some heart-touching moments, It Takes Two is generally a light-hearted game with tons of charm and humor. The conclusion to the story is largely predictable. However, it’s not the destination but the journey that’s important to the experience here. In that respect, the game succeeds on all fronts. It’s easy to nitpick about minor issues here and there, but that would be a disservice to what this game has achieved. Josef Fares and Hazelight carved a niche with A Way Out, but with It Takes Two, they’ve knocked it out of the park. It’s interactive couple therapy for all intents and purposes, and that in itself is an accomplishment for the medium.”

This game was a part of the EA Originals production that helps indie and small-scale publishers to create new IP. They have previously worked with Hazelight Studios on A Way Out which was a critical and commercial hit. They followed it up with It Takes Two which is proving to be the same.

The game is available now for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
