Koei Tecmo Tease New Game Announcement For December 6
Koei Tecmo, the creator of Dynasty and Samurai Warriors series has teased a new game announcement next month for PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
The official website just has a fire background with the tease for the announcement listed as December 6. This is around the same time as The Game Awards next month, so perhaps this announcement is linked to that event. The title simply reads: “The fight of destiny begins.”
Koei Tecmo has mostly released hack-and-slash games with a variety of different spin-off from their Dynasty Warriors franchise. These include Warriors Orochi and Samurai Warriors. They are also known to work on other properties like One Piece, The Legend of Zelda and Fire Emblem.
As for what this game can be, it is far too early to say anything final. Since the developer is known for their hack-and-slash genre which is often referred to as musou games, and this is a multiplatform project which is usually a candidate for such projects, it can be another new spin-off using the same Dynasty Warriors formula.
Koei Tecmo’s most recent work was on Warriors Orochi 4, which featured one of the largest character rosters in a hack-and-slash game. All of these characters were fully playable with their own moveset, thus leading to the game getting recognized by Guineas Book of World Records.
