A native port of P.T., Konami and Kojima Productions’ 2014 teaser game for the PlayStation 4, is now available for PC.
LoreanXavier’s GitHub page has shared a native PC port of Kojima Productions’ P.T. According to the developer, the game’s logic was rebuilt in C++, while the renderer was rewritten using Vulkan. The port doesn’t include the original copyrighted game data. Instead, it reads the levels, models, textures, sounds, scripts and cutscenes at runtime from a copy of the PS4 game.
The project was created independently in the developer’s spare time, with the goal of preserving P.T. The original can no longer be downloaded from the PlayStation Store, but remains installed on some PS4s. The port includes the entire game, from the opening sequence through to the street, including its voice segment.
While the default visuals follow the PS4 original’s settings, PC players can choose from a wide range of modern graphics options. These include resolutions and display modes, V-Sync, AMD FSR 3.1, NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and Intel XeSS, along with frame generation on supported hardware. Graphics presets range from Low through Ultra, with individual controls for shadows, ray-traced ambient occlusion, floor reflections, anisotropic filtering, depth of field, motion blur and other effects.
The port also adds new features not available in the original, including a photo mode, free camera, loop browser, museum, Game+, speedrun timer and experimental third-person and VR modes. Enhanced textures can also be generated via the game files.
Language support covers the original English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Japanese options, while Turkish, Simplified Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian have been added for menus, settings and subtitles. Voice audio remains only in English, and the word the microphone listens for is always “Jack.”
P.T. was originally released on August 12, 2014, exclusively for PS4. After Silent Hills was canceled, Konami removed it from the PlayStation Store and made it impossible to reinstall.
