LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight Gets Launch Trailer

by Greg Martin

Warner Bros. Games has released the launch trailer for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, offering a new look at the upcoming open-world action-adventure ahead of its release later this month. The trailer traces Bruce Wayne’s transformation into Gotham City’s protector while highlighting a wide range of allies and villains from across DC history.

Set to Seal’s “Kiss from a Rose,” originally featured in the Batman Forever soundtrack, the new footage combines cinematic sequences with gameplay moments featuring Batman alongside characters such as Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Jim Gordon, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul. The trailer also showcases several well-known adversaries, including The Joker, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Two-Face, Ra’s al Ghul, and Bane.

Developed by TT Games, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight features an original story inspired by decades of Batman films, television series, comics, and games. The project combines elements of DC lore with the humor and stylized presentation associated with LEGO adaptations.

The game is scheduled to launch worldwide on May 22 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Players who pre-order the Deluxe Edition will receive 72 hour early access beginning May 19. All pre-orders include The Dark Knight Returns Batsuit, based on the iconic comic storyline.

Warner Bros. Games also confirmed additional unlockable content tied to LEGO DC Batman sets currently available at retail. Several sets include redeemable in-game content such as playable Batmobile variants and exclusive gold themed cosmetic items. Meanwhile, players who create or already possess a Warner Bros. Games account can unlock the Golden Age Batsuit at launch.

A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also planned, though it is scheduled to arrive later in 2026. Wishlist options for that version are already available.
