The babies featured in life sim Paralives bear an unintentional resemblance to King of the Hill’s Bobby Hill. The developer is working on a fix.
Developer GabParalives took to Reddit to acknowledge an issue with the appearance of the life sim’s babies, Many players noticed that the babies in Paralives look uncanny, with some joking that they resembled King of the Hill character Bobby Hill (see image below!) rather than actual newborns.
The developer assured fans that improvements are coming on August 10, 2026, via update 0.1.7. “We heard you loud and clear… the babies needed some work! here’s a sneak peek of their updated look, coming soon in our next patch on August 10th,” they wrote.

Alongside the announcement, the developer shared several before-and-after comparison images highlighting the changes. These screenshots can be seen below.
The updated baby models feature noticeably improved facial and body proportions, giving them a softer, more age-appropriate appearance. The revisions reduce the oversized facial features and mature-looking proportions that had contributed to the uncanny effect.
The comparison screenshots were well received by the community, with many agreeing that the changes made a dramatic difference. One Reddit user summed up the sentiment by saying “damn they looked like old men before lol the comparison really makes it obvious.” The side-by-side images clearly demonstrate how subtle adjustments to the face, jawline, cheeks, and overall head proportions help the babies look much more like infants.
The quick response from Paralives Studio has been praised by fans as another example of the developers listening closely to community feedback. If the preview images are any indication, the upcoming patch should put the Bobby Hill comparisons to rest and give the life sim’s youngest residents a far more natural and believable appearance.
Paralives was released in early access on May 25, 2026, for Windows PC and macOS.
