Bandai Namco has announced The Backstage, a new downloadable expansion for Little Nightmares III, set to launch on June 12 across all supported platforms.
Revealed during the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, the DLC takes players deeper into the unsettling world of the Carnevale, leading them into what Bandai Namco describes as its darkest and most dangerous area yet. The expansion introduces new puzzles, environmental challenges, and threats as players continue their journey through the distorted setting.
The story centers on Low, who encounters a new child named Dime while exploring the hidden areas beneath the Carnevale’s stage curtains. Dime is equipped with a distinctive torch hat that serves as a vital tool for navigating the darkness and uncovering paths through the mysterious environment.
Together, Low and Dime must overcome new obstacles and survive fresh dangers as they attempt to rescue Alone from the grasp of the Puppeteer. Light plays a central role in the adventure, with the pair relying on Dime’s torch to reveal routes forward and confront the hazards lurking in the shadows.
While Bandai Namco has not detailed the full scope of the expansion, the publisher confirmed that The Backstage will feature new gameplay challenges designed around exploration, puzzle-solving, and survival within the eerie atmosphere that defines the Little Nightmares series.
Players who own the Deluxe Edition of Little Nightmares III will receive access to The Backstage DLC as part of their purchase. The publisher also noted that the Deluxe Edition includes additional content planned for release later this year.
Little Nightmares III – The Backstage launches on June 12 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
