Lords of the Fallen has now surpassed 8 million players worldwide, according to a new announcement from the game’s official social media account.

“To our 8 million Lampbearers – thank you,” the official Lords of the Fallen account posted on X. “Together, we shall conquer the darkness.”

The figure refers to total players rather than direct copies sold. Lords of the Fallen is currently available through subscription services, including PlayStation Plus, which likely contributed to the milestone alongside standard retail sales across PC and consoles.

Developed by Hexworks and published by CI Games, Lords of the Fallen launched on October 13, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game serves as a successor to the 2014 title of the same name and takes place in a dark fantasy world split between two interconnected realms.

Players control a Dark Crusader tasked with stopping the demon god Adyr while navigating both Axiom, the realm of the living, and Umbral, the realm of the dead. A core gameplay mechanic allows players to shift between dimensions using a magical lantern to uncover secrets, solve puzzles, and access alternate paths.

The game builds on the “soulslike” formula with challenging melee combat, large interconnected environments, and cooperative multiplayer features. Since launch, CI Games and Hexworks have continued supporting the title with post-launch updates, gameplay improvements, and additional content patches.
