Marvel D23 2026 delivered several major announcements, with Marvel Studios revealing the cast of its upcoming X-Men movie alongside new footage from Avengers: Doomsday, the first trailer for VisionQuest, and a new look at Marvel’s Wolverine.
The announcements came during Friday’s Disney Entertainment Showcase at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige appeared during the presentation to share new details on several upcoming Marvel projects, with more activities taking place throughout the weekend.
The biggest movie reveal was the first major casting announcement for Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men film. Thunderbolts director Jake Schreier is helming the project, with Sadie Sink returning as Jean Grey after making her debut as the character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Sink and Schreier were joined on stage by Kit Connor, who will play Scott Summers, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Storm.
Adam Driver was then revealed as another member of the cast through a video message, with the actor set to play Nathaniel Milbury. The currently untitled X-Men movie is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on May 5, 2028.
Marvel also brought the cast of Avengers: Doomsday to D23, where attendees were shown new footage from the upcoming film. Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Doctor Doom, was joined on stage by Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell, who are set to reprise their respective roles as Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter.
The footage teases a major confrontation involving Doctor Doom and heroes from across the multiverse. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to release in cinemas on December 18.
On the television side, Paul Bettany and James Spader introduced the first trailer and poster for VisionQuest. The Marvel Television series will premiere on Disney+ on October 14 and follows a rebooted Vision as he attempts to find a new purpose.
Vision will consult the artificial intelligence personalities contained within his programming, including Spader’s Ultron, while becoming involved with a mysterious boy named Thomas Shepard.
Marvel’s Wolverine also received a new trailer during the showcase. Developed by Insomniac Games, the PlayStation 5 exclusive follows Wolverine as he searches for answers about his past. The game is scheduled to launch on September 15.
Beyond the major film, television and gaming announcements, Marvel also held several events for fans attending D23. The Marvel Fanfare panel brought together Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Stephen Wacker, outgoing Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski, editor Nick Lowe and writer Joe Kelly for a discussion about the process behind Marvel’s comic book stories.
The panel also looked back at 65 years of Spider-Man stories and offered a preview of what readers can expect from Amazing Spider-Man #1000.
Marvel fans also gathered at the Grand Plaza for a cosplay meet-up, with attendees dressing as characters from across the Marvel Universe, including heroes and villains from the X-Men and Avengers.
Marvel is continuing its presence throughout D23 2026, with further announcements and updates expected as the event continues.
