Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has revealed new details about its single-player Episode Mode, confirming that the game’s story content is being written by acclaimed comic book writer Kieron Gillen.
In a post on X, the official Marvel Tōkon account said, “Introducing Episode Mode! Written by legendary comic writer Kieron Gillen, Episode Mode in #MARVELTokon: Fighting Souls features five unique stories, each brought to life by a different artist and following a different team as they face the looming threat of the Champion.”
The developer added, “Stay tuned as we spotlight each story’s distinctive art style over the coming days!”
Episode Mode will include five separate storylines, with each focusing on a different team from the game’s roster. According to the announcement, players will face The Champion throughout the mode. The reveal also confirms that boss battles will feature both The Promoter and The Champion.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is being developed by Arc System Works and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The 2.5D tag-team fighting game launches on August 6, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Windows. It features a roster of 20 playable Marvel characters divided into five teams, with additional DLC fighters planned after release.
