Marvel’s Avengers was originally set to launch in May but the release date was pushed back to September. ESRB has now rated the game given it a Teen rating.
Marvel’s Avengers is being developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal. The game will be published by Square Enix. It features Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Black Widow, and Ms. Marvel.
All of these characters will be playable in the game and from the ESRB description, the gameplay loop might consist of attempting a variety of combat missions.
ESRB has given Marvel’s Avengers a Teen Rating and shared a description of what can be expected from the game.
This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the roles of the Avengers battling an evil corporation. From a third-person perspective, players engage in a variety of combat missions using each character’s weapons/abilities; characters use melee combat (e.g., punches, kicks, throws, smashes), pistols and machine guns, lasers, thrown projectiles (e.g., hammer, shield, rock) to defeat enemies. Combat can be frenetic, with frequent explosions, cries of pain, and gunfire. The word “sh*t” is heard in the game.
Marvel’s Avengers is confirmed to launch for the current generation consoles and will be out on September 4, 2020, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It is a live-service game that will be presumably updated to add new superheroes and combat missions after its launches later in September.
Those who pre-order the game through the PlayStation Store can get access to a beta test that will be available first on PS4. In addition to this, the following bonuses will be given to those who pre-order it: Marvel Legacy Outfit pack, and an exclusive nameplate.
