Meccha Chameleon has reached a major sales milestone just weeks after its release, with developer lemorion_1224 announcing that the game has sold more than 7 million copies.
The news was shared by the developer on Steam alongside a message thanking players for their support. The post stated, “7 million copies sold! Thank you so much!”
The developer also revealed that a new official Japan-themed map is set to be added to the game, saying it will arrive “today or tomorrow.”
Released on Steam for Windows on June 10, 2026, Meccha Chameleon is a multiplayer hide-and-seek game that pits hunters against hiders. Rather than disguising themselves as objects, hiders must blend into their surroundings by painting their characters to match nearby colours, textures, and shapes while carefully positioning themselves to avoid detection.
The game’s unique take on the prop-hunt formula has helped it gain significant attention since launch, with the latest sales figures marking another major achievement for the Japanese indie title.
