Metal Gear Solid 3 might not get a full remake with Fox Engine but a fan is attempting to recreate it in-game using Metal Gear Solid 5.
The only indication of a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake that was shown from Konami was for a Pachinko machine. This included videos featuring various cutscenes taken from Metal Gear Solid 3 that was remade in the latest Fox Engine.
Fans have been long clamoring for a remake of the game with revamped visuals. Now someone has come forward to attempt it in a game as a mod for Metal Gear Solid 5.
As seen on reddit, the user has shared two different screenshots that give a tease at the mod that is currently being worked on for Metal Gear Solid 5.
The mod is still in a super early stage so don’t expect to see it in action any time soon. In its current stage, the modders are trying to create all the stages from the virtuous mission in MGS 3 using a custom mod kit. Obviously, it won’t be possible to remake the whole game this way due to the lack of resources and time.
If you ever wanted to see how MGS 3 looks like in Konami’s Fox Engine, the screenshots above are a good enough indication of it. However, it will be up to Konami to release a remake of MGS 3 if they consider it now, or in the future. Meanwhile, if you have the PC version, you can at least enjoy some MGS 3 levels with this mod, once it eventually comes out.
