Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 Specs Revealed

Konami has published the official platform specifications for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, confirming resolution, frame rate, storage requirements and image settings across all supported platforms ahead of the collection’s August 27, 2026 launch.

For Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Steam all target up to 4K resolution at 60 fps. Xbox Series S supports up to 2560×1440 at 60 fps.

On Nintendo Switch, the game runs at up to 720p in handheld mode and 1080p when docked, both targeting 30 fps. The Nintendo Switch 2 version increases performance to 60 fps, supporting up to 1080p in handheld mode and a maximum output resolution of 4K in TV mode with an internal resolution of up to 2560×1440. Switch 2 players can also choose between Adjusted and Original image modes when playing on a television.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker also targets 60 fps on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Steam and Nintendo Switch 2. On PS5, Xbox Series X and PC, players can select from Original, Adjusted, High Res and Custom image settings, with support for output resolutions up to 4K. Xbox Series S supports output up to 1440p.

The original Nintendo Switch version runs at up to 720p in both handheld and TV modes with a target of 30 fps. The Switch 2 edition increases the frame rate to 60 fps and supports output up to 1080p in both handheld and docked configurations while retaining the same image quality options available on other current-generation platforms.

Konami also confirmed that the collection’s bonus content requires approximately 1 GB of storage and runs at up to 1080p and 60 fps on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 and Steam. On the original Nintendo Switch, the bonus content outputs at up to 720p while maintaining a 60 fps target.

According to the official specifications, Metal Gear Solid 4 requires approximately 25 GB on PlayStation 5, 26 GB on Xbox Series X and Steam, and around 20 GB on Nintendo Switch. The native Nintendo Switch 2 version requires approximately 26 GB, while the compatibility version occupies around 36 GB. Peace Walker requires approximately 17 GB on PlayStation 5, 26 GB on Xbox Series X, 23 GB on Steam and 7 GB on Nintendo Switch, with the native Switch 2 version requiring approximately 13 GB.

Konami notes that the listed resolutions and frame rates represent target maximums and may vary depending on hardware configuration or demanding gameplay scenes. The publisher also confirmed that, within the collection, only the Metal Gear Solid 4 Database uses Unreal Engine. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 launches on August 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam.
