Call of Duty has announced that Modern Warfare II leaderboards and Modern Warfare III leaderboards have been permanently disabled as the series prepares for the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
In a post on the official Call of Duty Updates account, the team said: “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II & III. Leaderboards in Modern Warfare II & III will be permanently disabled as we optimize backend services ahead of Modern Warfare 4’s launch.”
The account later confirmed that the change extends beyond competitive rankings. “Note: This will also result in Combat Records being permanently disabled in both titles too.”
The permanent removal of leaderboards affects both 2022’s MWII and 2023’s Modern Warfare III. According to Call of Duty, the changes are being made as part of backend service optimisation ahead of Modern Warfare 4’s launch.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to release on October 23, 2026.
