The Modern Warfare 4 beta will include more than multiplayer for the first time in Call of Duty history, with players getting access to an exclusive campaign mission and a new Call of Duty: Warzone Resurgence map.
Activision confirmed that the beta will feature Entrenched, an exclusive single-player campaign mission. Players will also be able to try Zodiac, a new Warzone Resurgence map, during the second beta weekend.
The beta begins on August 21 for players who pre-order Modern Warfare 4 digitally on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC through Steam or Battle.net. The open beta begins on August 28 and will also include Nintendo Switch 2.
Modern Warfare 4 Beta Content
The early access weekend will introduce five new 6v6 multiplayer maps, including Rooftops, Silkworm, Transit 213, Cachette, and Lotus. Kill Block will also be available, alongside modes such as Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, Inflation, Search and Destroy, 10v10 and 3v3 Gunfight.
The beta will expand further during its second weekend, adding Lithium and Ground War locations including Combat Outpost, Imjin Farmland, and Wolves Stadium. Zodiac will also become available as the new Warzone Resurgence map.
Call of Duty NEXT will take place on August 21, providing a first look at the game’s core 6v6 multiplayer gameplay and additional Warzone information. Activision is also planning developer insights, launch map and mode reveals, reward drops, and beta code giveaways.
Pre-ordering Modern Warfare 4 provides access to the beta immediately after Call of Duty NEXT, while the open beta will begin on August 28 and run through September 1.
