Capcom has released a new Monster Hunter Wilds demo, while also introducing new editions of the game, confirming a permanent price reduction and announcing a global competitive event for September 2026.
Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, the new demo lets players experience the opening hours of Monster Hunter Wilds in Offline Mode. It includes full character creation, access to all 14 weapon types and story content through the beginning of Chapter 1-3, “To the Forest.” Players who decide to purchase the full game can carry over their save data on the same platform and continue their adventure without starting over.
Alongside the demo, Capcom has restructured the game’s product lineup and reduced the standard retail price of Monster Hunter Wilds to $39.99.
A new Gold Edition is now available for $79.99, bundling the base game with the Monster Hunter Wilds Cosmetic DLC Collection. The Cosmetic DLC Collection is also being sold separately for $59.99 and includes 10 downloadable content packs, including the Extras Cosmetic DLC Pack. Players can also purchase the Extras Cosmetic DLC Pack on its own for $29.99, bringing together cosmetic items that were previously only available individually.
As part of the changes, Capcom has discontinued the Deluxe Edition, Premium Deluxe Edition and Cosmetic DLC Pass bundles. Players who already own those editions will continue to have access to their content, while individual DLC items will remain available separately.
Capcom also confirmed the Monster Hunter Wilds Championship – Global Exhibition, which is scheduled to take place in September 2026. The competition will bring together the top 4 hunting duos from regional tournaments held in Japan, the United States, Europe and Taiwan to compete for the championship.
To help players prepare, two new Challenge Quests, Event: Dreams May Soar and Event: Unchained Arkveld, are now available from the Quest Counter. These quests allow hunters to test their skills and compare completion times with those achieved by the championship finalists.
Looking ahead, Capcom reiterated that Monster Hunter Wilds is currently in development for Nintendo Switch 2. The company also confirmed that its major expansion, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, remains on track for release in 2027, with additional details to be shared at a later date.
