Nintendo has released Pokémon Pokopia Version 2.0.0, introducing one of the game’s biggest content updates yet. The headline additions include underwater exploration, underwater building, new items, expanded customization options, and a long list of quality-of-life improvements.
The update also improves Pokémon behaviour, crafting, movement, performance, and multiplayer while fixing numerous gameplay, quest, visual, and stability issues throughout the game.

Pokémon Behaviour
- Pokémon now return if their habitat is rebuilt nearby after being destroyed.
- Pokémon recover more quickly when removed furniture is replaced.
- Pokémon now respond with emotes they previously taught the player.
- Return Home can now be used to travel to another town containing a Pokémon being searched for in the Pokédex.
Gameplay
- Reduced standard conversation indicators to better highlight special conversations and Ditto requests.
- Lost relics can now be appraised in batches of up to 10.
- Paint, Gather Honey, and Collect can now be repeated during a single interaction.
- Crafting now prioritises materials stored beside the workbench before using items in the Bag.
- Increased the placement limit for power generators from 64 to 128, excluding furnaces.
- Increased the town photo display limit from 10 to 40.
- Liquids can now be held in Ditto’s mouth without removing them from the environment.
- Released water now automatically matches nearby water levels.
- Smearguru can now learn patterns from stored Reference photos.
- Improved paint balloon targeting visibility.
- Increased treasure discovery rates with the Dowsing Machine on Dream Islands.
- Pokémon companions now follow players while using Surf, Glide, Rollout, or Magnet Rise.

Pokémon Pokopia is a social simulation game co-developed by Game Freak and Omega Force, and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. Released on March 5, 2026, the game is available exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. Version 2.0.0 was released on August 4, 2026.
