Monster Hunter Wilds Datamine Hints at Switch 2 Resolution

by Salal Awan

A recent Monster Hunter Wilds datamine has revealed what could be the target resolution and performance settings for the game’s upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 version. While Capcom has yet to confirm any technical specifications, the newly discovered data points to dynamic resolution options ranging from 1080p to 1440p in docked mode and 720p to 864p in handheld mode.

The information comes from datamined files included in the latest Monster Hunter Wilds update. According to the findings, new graphics enums reference Switch 2 display modes with docked resolutions of 1080p, 1260p, and 1440p, alongside handheld options of 720p, 810p, and 864p.

The same datamine also includes additional dynamic resolution settings labelled for 30 FPS and 40 FPS targets. The individual who shared the findings believes these new entries are tied to the Switch 2 version, with one enum possibly indicating docked mode. They also noted that the listed resolutions would likely work alongside DLSS or another upscaling solution rather than representing native output.

In addition to the graphics-related entries, the update appears to include new enums for checking Nintendo Switch Online functionality, further suggesting ongoing work on the Switch 2 release.

Capcom announced in June 2026 that Monster Hunter Wilds is in active development for Nintendo Switch 2, but the company has not shared technical details or a release date. As with all datamined information, these findings should be treated as unconfirmed until Capcom officially reveals the game’s performance and resolution targets.
