New GTA 6 Pre-Order Rumor Claims Best Buy Information May Have Been Incorrect

Fresh uncertainty has emerged surrounding rumored Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders after new claims suggested Best Buy may have distributed incorrect information internally.

The latest update comes from GTA forums, where user Graczdari_91 stated that internal company emails indicate “Best Buy has got it wrong” and that no GTA VI pre-orders are currently expected to begin today.

“I don’t want to disappoint anyone, but internal company emails suggest that Best Buy has got it wrong and no pre-orders will be launching today,” the user wrote. “Things might change at the last minute, but I’d advise keeping your expectations in check.”

According to the discussion, the information was privately shared with GTA forums administrator Spider-Vice, who later responded with “Verified in DMs.”

Rockstar Insider videotech also commented on the situation, stating that “damage control is ongoing” while claiming the administrator had verified the original poster’s identity through direct messages. Additional comments suggested that the email address associated with the alleged internal material matched the work email reportedly used by the forum member during account registration.

The claims arrive shortly after reports surfaced alleging that retailer Best Buy had accidentally sent affiliate emails referencing a GTA VI pre-order campaign scheduled to run between May 18 and May 21, 2026. Those earlier reports suggested affiliates would receive a 5% promotional commission tied to the campaign.

Rockstar Games has not officially announced GTA VI pre-order details at the time of writing.

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch worldwide on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Set in the fictional state of Leonida, heavily inspired by Florida, the game marks the franchise’s return to Vice City and follows the protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, as they become entangled in criminal conspiracies and large-scale heists across the open world.
