New Halo campaign and multiplayer projects are allegedly in development at Xbox Game Studios and Halo Studios.
Halo insider TechnicalHalo (via TheChosenOneProphecy on Reddit) is pushing back against recent reports that suggested Halo Studios has no active games in development. According to them, information shared by an alleged Halo Studios developer working under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) suggested a more optimistic view of the franchise’s future.
The claim came after a viral report from fellow Halo insider Rebs Gaming, who recently alleged that Halo Studios underwent a significant internal shift after studio head Pierre Hintze reassigned developers from the canceled Halo battle royale project, codenamed Ekur, to work on Halo: Campaign Evolved. Those reports indicated that Halo Studios had effectively reset development and had no major titles actively in production.
However, according to TechnicalHalo’s source, Rebs Gaming’s report was not “THAT true.” They mentioned that Microsoft’s commitment to the Halo franchise remains strong. The leaker was informed that Halo Studios has projects that have already moved beyond the concept stage, including a new single-player campaign that is in early development and a multiplayer project that is further along in production.. “I was requested to delete the tweet. it said that someone under NDA with Halo Studios DMd me that there are things past the pre-production/ and concept phase,” they said. “Another source said the next campaign is in ‘early development’ and MP is in production.”
The source also addressed claims surrounding Halo Studios head Pierre Hintze. Recent reports had portrayed Hintze as an aggressive manager whose leadership style had contributed to internal issues. However, according to TechnicalHalo, the anonymous Halo Studios developer characterized those accounts as “very one sided” and disputed that portrayal.”The person under NDA said that Rebs report from last week was not ‘THAT true’ and that ‘halo is important’ to MS/Xbox/Asha. ‘Pierre stuff I think it’s very one sided’. Whoever is leaking Rebs info is messing things up for us because MS thinks we’re leaking it’,” said the leaker.
