Nintendo is increasing repair prices for the Nintendo Switch 2 and original Nintendo Switch in Japan from November 16, 2026, citing rising costs for replacement parts. The revised prices will apply to consoles received by the company from that date.
One example is the Nintendo Switch 2 mainboard repair, which will increase from ¥27,500 to ¥37,400. Based on the supplied currency conversions, that represents a rise from approximately $173 to $236.
Nintendo has advised customers that its published repair prices are estimates. If replacing or repairing the listed components doesn’t resolve an issue, the company may need to use other parts, which could change the final cost.
The company also explained that it may repair the minimum number of components necessary to restore a console’s functionality, regardless of the specific repair requested. Damage caused by water, drops, modifications, or similar incidents could require additional parts and lead to higher costs than the listed estimates.
The price changes currently apply to Japan. Nintendo has not announced whether the revised repair prices will extend to other regions.
