Three Game Boy Classics Added to Nintendo Switch Online

Nintendo has added three more Game Boy games to its Nintendo Classics library on Nintendo Switch Online. Avenging Spirit, Mole Mania and Revenge of the ‘Gator are available now, giving subscribers three different retro experiences to revisit.

Developed by Jaleco, Avenging Spirit is an action platformer with an unusual central mechanic. Players control a ghost who can possess enemies and use their abilities to fight through stages while attempting to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend. The possession system sets it apart from more conventional action games on the handheld.

Mole Mania takes a different approach, offering a puzzle-adventure overseen by Shigeru Miyamoto. Players control Muddy Mole as he digs through underground passages to rescue his family from a farmer. The game has earned a dedicated following over the years and is often regarded as one of the Game Boy’s hidden gems.

The third addition, Revenge of the ‘Gator, is a pinball game developed by HAL Laboratory. Rather than sticking to a conventional pinball theme, it features an alligator-inspired setting, complete with quirky interactions and bonus rounds.

All three games are included with the standard Nintendo Switch Online membership, which also provides online play, cloud saves and access to classic titles from the NES, Super NES and Game Boy libraries.

Subscribers looking for more retro games can upgrade to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. The higher-priced tier adds libraries featuring Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis and Game Boy Advance games, alongside access to selected paid downloadable content for Nintendo titles.
