Nioh 3 Update 2.01 brings a substantial collection of weapon adjustments and bug fixes to the action RPG. The update addresses issues affecting Samurai and Ninja weapons, Martial Arts, Ki damage, Curse effects, and various combat mechanics.
The update also improves Hundred Demon Realms Picture Scrolls, adjusts the difficulty of 1622 CE – Edo in Enlightened One’s Journey, and resolves numerous gameplay, progression, item, and multiplayer issues. Steam players also receive a fix for the Composure Martial Art when using keyboard and mouse controls.

Samurai Weapon Adjustments
- Fixed an issue causing a mid-air Quick Attack when Combination Input Martial Art 1 was pressed immediately after jumping.
- Added controller vibration when Martial Art Ki Wave is performed.
- Fixed reduced Ki Wave damage from Rending Charge Revenge.
- Fixed reduced Ki Wave damage from Thunder Roar Lightning when using a weapon with an applied attribute.
- Adjusted Shatter knockback against yokai with depleted Ki.
- Fixed an issue preventing Shatter from defeating enemies with depleted Ki.
- Fixed an issue preventing Curse from disappearing from opponents with depleted Ki after being hit by Shatter.
- Fixed an issue preventing Ki Pulse with a Strong Attack during Living Artifact.
- Fixed a delayed attack window after Gong Bash during Living Artifact.

Ninja Weapon Adjustments
- Made airborne Strong Attacks easier to land.
- Added controller vibration when Martial Art Night Wave is performed.
- Fixed an issue preventing damage from increasing following Night Wave from Piercing Downpour.
- Fixed an issue preventing Curse from disappearing from enemies with depleted Ki after using Bedrock Breaker.
- Fixed an issue causing Storm Surge and Storm Surge Water Martial Arts to be performed with the hoko.
Other Weapon Fixes
- Fixed an issue preventing Curse from disappearing when performing Flowing Mist with the Samurai sword.
- Fixed reduced Tonfa Gun special effect damage when using a Ninja tonfa with an applied weapon attribute.
- Fixed an issue preventing Ki from being expended when cancelling Winter Dawn, Summer Twilight, or Autumn Dusk with a Guardian Spirit Skill or another technique.
Hundred Demon Realms Picture Scrolls
- Fixed an issue causing obstacles to appear at the entrance to Hundred Demon Realms Picture Scrolls.
- Fixed an issue sometimes preventing Go Forward from being selected after defeating the final enemy.
- Boss information will no longer be consolidated when multiple bosses share the same name.
- Fixed an issue where the cursor could highlight the wrong Hundred Demon Realms Picture Scroll.
- Fixed an issue preventing icons for Picture Scrolls with powerful special effects from appearing in the Equipment menu.
- The number of attempts for the next Picture Scroll will now only appear on the host player’s screen while awaiting an Expedition.
- Fixed an issue sometimes preventing combat from starting for guests during multiplayer Picture Scroll sessions.
- Fixed an issue allowing wrongly generated Picture Scrolls to be obtained during Expeditions or while players had Visitors.
- Invalid Picture Scroll values will be adjusted to fall within the valid range.
Feature Enhancements
- Equipment will now be locked when saving or overwriting equipment sets in Manage Equipment Sets.
- Made it easier to unlock illustrations of certain yokai.
- Improved the visibility of icons used to check obtained document details.
- Fixed the interaction between newly triggered status ailments and Confusion duration-related effects.
- Adjusted the difficulty of 1622 CE – Edo in Enlightened One’s Journey.
General Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue involving Guardian Spirits loading incorrectly after applying previous updates.
- Fixed an issue preventing Curse from disappearing after a bare-handed Strong Attack against an enemy with depleted Ki.
- Fixed an issue allowing Shadowself clones to pass through walls.
- Fixed an issue causing players with Toughness AA to stagger from certain attacks when Toughness A should have prevented it.
- Fixed an issue preventing Guardian Spirit Skills from being used after moving while attempting to activate them.
- Fixed an issue where Summoning Seal: Giant Toad did not disappear from the player’s inventory after use.
- Fixed incorrect character movement and direction caused by certain Yui Shosetsu attacks.
