Bethesda Game Studios is looking into bringing some of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Switch 2 optimizations to other platforms following requests from players for another patch. The studio confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 version contains several technical improvements that could potentially be introduced to the PC and console releases.
In a post on social media, Bethesda Game Studios said, “We’ve heard your feedback asking for an additional patch for Oblivion Remastered. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game has a number of optimizations that we are looking into bringing to other platforms and we will share more when we are able.”
The announcement follows the release of Oblivion Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 11, 2026. The Switch 2 version includes platform-specific performance optimizations, alongside support for different control options including Joy-Con motion controls, traditional inputs and touchscreen functionality.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered originally launched on April 22, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. The remaster introduced substantially updated visuals and gameplay refinements while retaining elements of the original 2006 release.
The game has continued to face criticism over technical issues, including bugs and inconsistent AI behaviour. Bethesda’s latest comments suggest that some of the work carried out for the Switch 2 release could eventually benefit players on the other platforms.
