Reports claiming that GameStop accidentally revealed an Ocarina of Time pre-order date for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake have now been disputed by industry insider NateTheHate.
Earlier this week, speculation emerged after a GameStop product listing briefly displayed an August 4 date before it was removed. The discovery was shared by Reddit user Naive_Associate_15, leading to suggestions that the retailer had accidentally published the game’s pre-order date ahead of an official announcement.
NateTheHate has since dismissed those claims, posting on X: “No, GameStop didn’t leak the pre-order date nor price for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.”
He added, “For whatever reason, Google is pulling the release date & pricing information for Beast of Reincarnation, which releases on August 4th and standard edition retails for $59.99.”
The explanation suggests the information displayed on the GameStop page was the result of incorrect data being pulled by Google rather than details relating to Nintendo’s upcoming remake.
Nintendo has yet to announce pre-order details or pricing for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, which was unveiled in June 2026 and is scheduled to launch later this year for Nintendo Switch 2. Until then, any release or pre-order information should be treated as unofficial unless confirmed by Nintendo.
