Palworld Release On PlayStation Consoles Teased By Community Manager
The PlayStation release of Pocket Pair’s action-adventure, survival, and monster-taming game, Palworld, has been teased by the game’s community manager.
The Palworld community manager took to Twitter/X to hint at the future release of a PlayStation version of the game. The tweet stated that the developer wanted “to add more hearts”, implying adding more platforms that the game will be available on. It added a blue colored heart, which further suggested that the game is head to PS4 and PS5.
The release of Palworld on PlayStation is a bit of a no-brainer, and it’s surprising that it took the development team this long to work on a port. It’s likely that Microsoft had a timed exclusively deal in place that prevented it from happening earlier. Nevertheless, better late than never.
Shuhei Yoshida, Head of Independent Developer Initiative at Sony Interactive Entertainment, had previously responded to a question regarding the possible release of a PS5 version of Palworld. The Sony Interactive Entertainment executive had congratulated the Palworld development team on selling over 1 million copies of the game in about 8 hours since release. He responded affirmatively to the question regarding the possibility of Palworld arriving on PS5, and tagged another Sony executive, Jingwen Zhu, in his tweet. The latter is responsible for Partner Development at PlayStation and is the individual who could work towards a partnership between the company and Pocket Pair for a PlayStation port. Back then, the Palworld Early Access launch FAQ mentioned the possibility of a PS5 version of Palworld. It is stated that Pocket Pair doesn’t have plans for a PS5 port at the time, but would consider it during development.
For the uninitiated, Palworld is set in an open world inhabited by animal-like creatures called “Pals.” Players engage in battles to capture these Pals, utilizing them for tasks like base construction, traversal, and combat.
