Sega and Atlus’ next entry in the Persona role-playing game series, Persona 6, is currently aiming for a 2025 release, based on the latest rumor.

Twitter/X user p0wyful, who appears to have sources within Atlus and also has some association with the insider formerly known as Midori, has shared alleged details regarding the gameplay and release window for Persona 6. They mentioned that the game is targeting a 2025 release, more specifically a summer 2025 window. They added that, if they were to guess, it will be released between July and August.

Persona 6 release

According to the Twitter/X insider, post-launch DLC for Persona 6 is set in stone. They mentioned that it will contain lots of customization for party members and the game’s dual protagonists. They also claimed that Atlus will release smaller expansions as well as a more sizeable expansion that will be independent of the base game.

The insider also claimed Persona 6’s color theme is green and that the overall theme is black and white, as was previously rumored. They said that duality is a major element of the game, and the protagonists i.e. Kuro and Shiro, represent this among other things. According to them, it won’t a matter of picking one protagonist or the other. One protagonist (male) will take priority over the other, though both of them will have plenty of playtime. However, they mentioned that fans shouldn’t expect choice or an equal amount of playable screen time for both characters.

Furthermore, the insider claimed that Persona 6 takes place in an art school. This is where the black and white and duality element plays an integral role. The game is said to involve plenty of clashes between modern and traditional art, and one of the central conflicts will be ‘modernity vs tradition’. Another smaller focus is set to be on various mediums including music, painting, writing, etc. This will also influence the main cast in some manner.

As per the Twitter/X user, Persona 6 is internally described as a “semi-open world” game. They believe that Metaphor influenced this design choice, and they expect the game world to be similar to the latter in scale.
