Game Freak and Omega Force have confirmed that Pokémon Pokopia’s first paid DLC expansion, Bubbly Basin, will launch on August 5, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2.
Although the release date was not officially confirmed, a new Japanese trailer revealed it before being taken down and made private. Fortunately, fans managed to capture a screenshot of the release date.
Bubbly Basin is the first part of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass, a paid three-part DLC bundle that will add new content to the life-simulation game throughout 2026 and 2027.
The expansion introduces a brand-new town centred around underwater exploration, alongside additional Pokémon that players can befriend. It also adds new crafting recipes, character cosmetics and decorative items to expand the game’s building and customisation options.
Pokémon Pokopia is a social life-simulation game co-developed by Game Freak and Omega Force. Set in a post-apocalyptic version of the Kanto region, players take control of a Ditto capable of transforming into a humanoid while restoring abandoned landscapes into thriving habitats through crafting, construction and cooperation with Pokémon.
Following Bubbly Basin, the remaining two Expansion Pass updates are planned for release later in 2026 and during 2027, bringing additional locations, features and content to the game.
