The forthcoming The Mercenaries update for Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 Remake is set to add paid “weapon upgrade” DLC to the game.
The Mercenaries update for Resident Evil 4 Remake is not out until tomorrow but ahead of it, paid DLC is already live on PlayStation Network in New Zealand, and it’s possible to browse the weapon upgrade DLC options on offer. This DLC entitles you to one or more exclusive weapon upgrade tickets to apply to your favorite weapons. The aforementioned exclusive upgrade ticket is otherwise only available in-game upon gathering 30 or more of a rare jewel called the spinel.
As seen above, players can opt to purchase either one, three, or five exclusive upgrade tickets. They will then become available in your treasures inventory in each of your save files. The listed prices are in New Zealand Dollars, and a rough conversion to US Dollars can be seen below:
- 1x Exclusive Upgrade Ticket: $3
- 3x Exclusive Upgrade Tickets: $7
- 5x Exclusive Upgrade Tickets: $10
The Mercenaries update is not out yet but the PlayStation Store usually updates earlier in New Zealand, as the region is 24 hours ahead of the US. Therefore, it is safe to assume that the DLC will also be available in other regions alongside the update. The update is set to go live globally sometime tomorrow April 7, 2023.
Previously, the list of playable characters and stages featured in the upcoming DLC for the Resident Evil 4 remake, titled The Mercenaries, were leaked via a datamine.
The list of playable characters featured in the forthcoming The Mercenaries DLC for Resident Evil 4 Remake includes one who was not playable in the original. It is none other than Luis, who was only present as an NPC in the 2005 game. The Mercenaries mode will feature a total of four stages, including The Village, The Castle, The Island, and The Docks. Playable characters include Leon, Luis, Ada, Wesker, Hunk, and Krauser.
