Resident Evil 4 Remake Voice Actor Falls Victim To Internet Hate Comments

Lily Gao, voice actor for Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 Remake, has fallen victim to hate filled comments over the social media.

The voice actor in question did voice overs for Ada Wong in the Resident Evil 4 remake, and she received hate comments over the social media on her portrayal of the iconic character. Her Instagram profile has been getting hit with negative comments from rabid Ada fans since the game’s launch.

Things ultimately got out of hand, as the comments began to get incredibly toxic, leaving Gao with no choice but to delete them and disabled the comments section of her Instagram profile. Constructive criticism is not a bad thing, but the behavior on display from so-called fans is highly unwarranted, to say the least.

Caocom had replaced Jolene Anderson, Ada’s voice actor in the Resident Evil 2 remake, with Gao in the Resident Evil 4 remake. The publisher had taken an initiative to hire actors of the same ethnicity as the characters portrayed, which is applicable to all of its future games.

Things didn’t end there, and the hate mongers began adding hate filled comments on other posts on Gao’s Instagram profile, which served as her resume. As a result of the ongoing harassment, Gao has now deleted nearly all of her Instagram posts.

Previously, the list of playable characters featured in the upcoming DLC for the Resident Evil 4 remake, titled The Mercenaries, had been leaked via a datamine. A dataminer who goes by the handle of biohazarddoctor on Twitter, revealed the list of playable characters featured in the forthcoming The Mercenaries DLC for Resident Evil 4 Remake. The list includes Ada Wong as well as a character who was not playable in the original.

Additionally, another datamine performed by Gosetsu from the RE Wiki Discord revealed the presence of game files related to Separate Ways, the DLC side story featuring Ada Wong, which has yet to be officially announced by Capcom. It is expected that the publisher will be making an announcement in this regard, as well as details on pricing, in the weeks to come.
