Resident Evil Veronica may have slipped to a Fall 2027 release, according to industry insider Dusk Golem. The remake was officially announced by Capcom for 2027, but the company has not publicly provided a specific release date.
Dusk Golem shared the claim after reportedly hearing the same information from three different sources. However, they stressed that the information had not been confirmed directly and should be treated cautiously.
“There is a high chance it might’ve slipped into a Fall 2027 release,” Dusk Golem said, adding that they trust the sources but had not personally heard the information directly.
According to Dusk Golem, the potential change could also explain why Resident Evil Veronica did not appear at Tokyo Game Show, despite previous mainline Resident Evil games reportedly appearing at the event.
The insider said they were already aware that Capcom was making some late changes to the game, with the scope and additional development time previously uncertain. They suggested that Capcom may have decided to make the project more ambitious, potentially requiring additional development time.
Dusk Golem also stressed that this would not technically be an official delay because Capcom has never announced a specific release date for the remake.
Resident Evil Veronica was officially announced during Summer Game Fest and is scheduled to launch in 2027. The remake is being developed using Capcom’s RE Engine and is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2.
