Rise of the Ronin Update 1.020 Released Today

Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have released a brand new update for Rise of the Ronin today bumping the game version to 1.020 on PS5.

This update has a download size of 1.3 GB and it should be available now on PS5. This update appears to launch alongside Dragon’s Dogma 2 patch but while we have patch notes for the former, there are no such notes available for Rise of the Ronin.

• Fixed an issue where obtained skills or developed technology could be lost
  Skills and technology lost due to this issue will be restored when applying this update.
• Fixed an issue where completion time for Cat Concierge, Pilgrim dog and Gardening in the Longhouse would be counted even when at PS5 home screen.
• Fixed issues where characters and horses were sinking into the ground.
• Fixed issues where enemies would become invincible during combat or their models or weapons could disappear.
• Fixed an issue where some equipment was not able to be selected at “Redesign”.

Rise of the Ronin is an action-adventure game set in Japan during the Bakumatsu period of 1863. Developed for the PlayStation 5 platform by the creators of Nioh and Ninja Gaiden, it plunges players into a world of political turmoil and warfare following the arrival of Western ships, marking the decline of the Tokugawa Shogunate.

Players take on the role of a Ronin, a masterless warrior, navigating through a dynamic storyline shaped by their choices and alliances. Critical decisions, such as whether to assassinate or protect key figures, determine the unfolding of history through a multi-choice system.

Combat is a central aspect, offering deep engagement with various playstyles, whether engaging in close-quarters combat with traditional weaponry or utilizing period firearms from a distance.

The game features an open-world environment inspired by 19th-century Japan, allowing players to encounter influential historical figures and ordinary citizens amidst the cultural revolution.

Utilizing the capabilities of the PlayStation 5 console, players can immerse themselves in the experience with features like haptic feedback through the DualSense controller, adaptive triggers for weapon interactions, 3D spatial audio, and lightning-fast load times.

Rise of the Ronin was released on March 22, 2024, exclusively for the PlayStation 5, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
