What Is the Review Embargo Date for Saros?

According to Game Informer‘s Twitter/X account, the review embargo for Saros is set to be lifted on April 24, 2026, at 12 AM PDT / 2 AM CDT / 3 AM EDT / 9 AM CEST, 4 days before the game’s official release date on April 30, 2026.

Additionally, the pre-load for Saros is expected to go live on the PlayStation Store on April 21, 2026, for those who pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition and on April 23, 2026, for those who pre-ordered a Standard digital copy of the game. It will come with the latest version i.e. 01.002.002, though an update may be rolled out closer to the game’s early access release on April 28, 2026, or its full launch on April 30, 2026. Meanwhile, those who purchased a physical copy will likely be required to download a day one update. The download size of the PS5 version of Saros (83.440 GB) is around 23 GB larger than the size of Returnal (66.504 GB) for PS5.

For the uninitiated, Saros is set for release exclusively for PlayStation 5. It is a third-person action title that blends bullet-hell intensity with third-person shooting mechanics and roguelike design elements. The game incorporates persistent progression systems, enabling players to carry over resources and permanently enhance protagonist Arjun Devraj’s equipment, including weapons and suit upgrades, across multiple runs even after each death. While exploring the planet, players will find Soltari Holograms, collecting which will uncover the planet’s lore.
