Screen Burn has confirmed that a gameplay balance update is coming to Silent Hill: Townfall after players raised concerns about an enemy called The Weight. The developer also recently released PC Update 1.3.1, which addresses stuttering caused by shader compilation issues.
In a post on social media, Screen Burn said it had heard player feedback regarding The Weight and is working on gameplay balancing changes. “Also, we’ve heard you on struggles with The Weight – gameplay balancing on it’s way asap,” the developer said.
The developer did not provide details on how The Weight will be changed or when the gameplay update will be released. Screen Burn’s comments suggest the enemy encounter will receive adjustments in an upcoming patch.
Alongside the planned gameplay changes, Screen Burn has already released version 1.3.1 on PC through Steam and Epic Games Store. According to the developer, the update significantly improves stuttering caused by PSO compilation issues, with additional improvements planned for future updates.
The Weight has been one of the more divisive aspects of Silent Hill: Townfall, with criticism focusing on the way its encounters can affect the game’s pacing. The developer’s acknowledgement indicates that changes to these sequences are now being considered as part of the game’s ongoing post-launch support.
