Sega has released a new free content update for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, bringing a crossover with Angry Birds that adds new playable content and a limited-time in-game event.
The update introduces Red from Angry Birds as a playable racer, complete with his own vehicle, the Super Roaster. Alongside the new character, players will also gain access to themed emotes and sound effects, as well as three additional tracks for the in-game jukebox, including Go Theme, Go Theme Final Lap, and the Angry Birds Theme.
To coincide with the release, Sega is hosting a limited-time event where players can earn festival points by participating in races. The event begins on April 16 at 5:00 PM PT and runs until April 19 at 4:59 PM PT, offering rewards such as decals, gadgets, and other in-game items.
The Angry Birds content drop is available at no extra cost to all players who own either the Standard or Digital Deluxe editions of Sonic Racing CrossWorlds. The update will be applied automatically, though players are advised to ensure their game is updated to the latest version to access the new content.
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds is currently available across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch systems. The game is priced at $69.99 on most platforms, while the Nintendo Switch version starts at $59.99, with a separate Nintendo Switch 2 edition also available at $69.99.
