SEGA used Summer Game Fest 2026 and Sonic the Hedgehog’s 35th anniversary celebrations to unveil new content plans for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds while also announcing a brand-new licensed indie title, SONIC PICO PARK.
The presentation offered a preview of upcoming downloadable content for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, including collaborations with several major entertainment franchises. Players were given their first look at the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pack, which is scheduled to launch in July 2026. Inspired by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, the expansion will add Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo as playable racers. The pack will also include themed vehicles, new race courses, and music tracks based on the franchise.
SEGA also revealed the Avatar Pack, arriving in October 2026. The crossover will bring Avatar: The Last Airbender characters Aang and Katara to the game alongside new vehicles, courses, music, emotes, and other themed content. The publisher described the pack as giving players the opportunity to harness elemental powers while racing across the game’s evolving tracks.
Looking further ahead, the company teased plans for the second year of post-launch support. Among the upcoming additions are Godzilla and EVANGELION DLC packs, which will introduce new characters and courses inspired by the iconic Japanese franchises. SEGA confirmed that Season Pass Two will consist of six DLC packs in total, though full details on the remaining content will be shared later this year.
Alongside the racing game’s expanding content roadmap, SEGA announced a new partnership with indie developer TECOPARK to create SONIC PICO PARK. The title is based on the popular cooperative puzzle game PICO PARK and reimagines its gameplay using Sonic the Hedgehog characters and settings.
According to the announcement, SONIC PICO PARK will feature the teamwork-focused puzzle action that made the original indie game a success while incorporating recognizable Sonic characters, themed levels, and unique gameplay moments inspired by the long-running franchise. SEGA did not provide a release date beyond confirming a 2026 launch window.
While many details remain under wraps, the reveal highlights SEGA’s plans to continue expanding Sonic’s presence across multiple genres and collaborations as the franchise celebrates its 35th anniversary.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is set to receive its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover in July 2026, followed by the Avatar Pack in October. Meanwhile, SONIC PICO PARK is scheduled to launch sometime in 2026, with additional information expected to be announced in the coming months.
