Sony Is Happy With Positive Reactions To PSVR 2, Has Many Titles Planned For 2023 & Beyond

Sony is happy with the positive reactions that its latest virtual reality headset, PSVR 2, has garnered, and the console maker has many titles planned for the platform in the year 2023 and beyond.

Speaking during an interview with Famitsu, the President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, stated that the new VR headset had launched very recently, so it may be a little early to judge its popularity. Regardless, he said that the company is happy to see it get positive reactions from users as well as the media.

According to Jim Ryan, more than 40 VR titles have been released close to the launch of PSVR 2. He added that there are many more titles to look forward to in the year 2023 and beyond. Ryan stated that Sony will continue to push its latest headset forward, so that those who purchase the PSVR 2 can enjoy it for a long time and that the company may also make money.

Furthermore, Ryan reminded that PSVR 2 has improved all kinds of functionality compared to the original PSVR, and that the performance and capabilities have been greatly enhanced. He added that he is very happy to see that the device is loved by many fans. He mentioned that developers are also working on titles that make the most of the headset’s functionality, such as eye tracking.

On the subject of his favorite PSVR 2 game, Ryan mentioned Gran Turismo 7 as a game that offers a wonderful experience in VR. He also mentioned Horizon Call of the Mountain, and looked forward to upcoming VR content for Resident Evil 4 Remake and the PSVR 2 version of Beat Saber.

The PSVR 2 doesn’t officially support the PC platform, though it was recently reported that the hardware level authentication on the headset, which detects whether the Virtual Reality headset is connected to a PS5, had been cracked.
