GSC Game World has revealed the release date for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope, confirming that the game’s first major story expansion will launch on August 20.
Announcing the release date, the studio teased the expansion with a message to players: “The gates to the center are sealed tighter than ever — but as it goes in the Zone, the most cunning already know when the right chance will appear. Whispers around the campfires speak of August 20. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope expansion arrives, and now is the time to get ready for a new expedition deep into the Zone!”
The developer also confirmed that the expansion will explore the conflict between the Duty and Freedom factions while introducing two new locations to investigate: the Iron Forest and the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope expands the story of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl with new narrative content, additional areas, weapons, anomalies and mutant variants. Player choices throughout the expansion will continue to influence faction relationships and the story’s outcome.
The expansion launches on August 20 for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl players.
