A rumored announcement for a new Star Fox game may no longer be on track, according to an update from industry insider NateTheHate. After previously suggesting that the reveal would take place in April, the insider has now indicated there is no new information to share, stating, “I have no update to share, the Intent was to reveal this month.”
Earlier claims pointed to a possible announcement through the Nintendo Today app or a social media post rather than a full Nintendo Direct presentation. At the time, NateTheHate had said, “I said StarFox will be announced this month via Nintendo Today or Twitter,” and confirmed the April window when asked directly.
Reports surrounding the project have suggested that a new Star Fox title is in development, potentially targeting a 2026 release. Additional discussion from a VGC podcast hinted at a different tone for the game, with the claim, “The thing that was said to me was, ‘Oh, the game’s really funny’, which suggests perhaps the writing is a focus and that suggests maybe you are going to get a bit of a different vision.”
Nintendo has not officially confirmed a new entry in the series. The reported timing for any announcement remains uncertain.
