Plans for a sequel to Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment’s 2024 action-adventure game, Star Wars Outlaws, have allegedly been scrapped.
Star Wars insider FivesWalker took to Twitter/X to share that a sequel to Star Wars Outlaws was planned up until some point. According to their information, the game was expected to be far more successful then it actually ended up being. As a result, unlike the Star Wars Jedi trilogy, fans will not be seeing Massive Entertainment’s game turned into a series in the future.
The insider also mentioned that, in addition to a sequel, Star Wars Outlaws was originally set to receive 6 DLCs, with one of them being based on the novel tie-in, titled Star Wars Outlaws: Low Red Moon by Mike Chen, released on February 3, 2026. Much like the sequel, however, plans for all DLC also appear to have been scrapped.
For the uninitiated, Star Wars Outlaws’ story is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, focusing on Kay Vess, a resourceful outlaw who gathers a crew to carry out a high-stakes heist while trying to break free from the grip of a powerful criminal syndicate. The player explores expansive open-world locations across both planetary surfaces and outer space.
Combat blends close-quarters attacks with blaster-based gunplay. Kay’s blaster supports multiple firing modes, including an electromagnetic pulse option that can be used in different combat situations. Players can also take advantage of environmental hazards, such as explosive objects, to gain an edge in battle. Stealth is another important gameplay element, allowing players to avoid detection or quietly take down opponents. To assist her on missions, Kay is equipped with tools such as a grappling hook for traversal and an electronic device for hacking systems.
Star Wars Outlaws was released on August 30, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X|S. A Nintendo Switch 2 version followed on September 4, 2025.
