God of War Laufey may still be a ways off from launch, according to comments shared by industry insider NateTheHate, who recently discussed the game’s reported release timeline on social media.

Responding to a question from user Cat Noir about whether the heavily promoted PlayStation title could arrive in 2026, NateTheHate said, “Last I heard the target was first half 2027. Could change but that was a hope at one point.”

The insider later addressed another question regarding whether God of War Laufey or Until Dawn 2 would release first. NateTheHate replied, “Both could potentially be in first half 2027 but timelines could shift, as nothing is set in stone at this stage.”

While the comments suggest that Sony may be targeting a launch during the first half of 2027, NateTheHate emphasized that development schedules remain subject to change.

God of War Laufey was officially announced in June 2026. Developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the single-player action-adventure title is currently in development for PlayStation 5. The game serves as a Norse-era spin-off centered on Laufey, also known as Faye, the legendary Giant warrior and wife of Kratos. The story follows her journey through the Everywhen, an afterlife realm where she uses a sentient sword and soul-based abilities to battle gods drawn from multiple mythologies. Sony has not yet announced an official release date for the game.
