Stellar Blade Review Embargo Details Revealed
Details regarding the review embargo for Sony Interactive Entertainment and Shift Up’s upcoming action adventure game, Stellar Blade, have been revealed.
The review embargo for Stellar Blade is expected to be lifted in two weeks, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 12 PM CET. This is two days ahead of game’s launch on April 26, 2024. Fans can, therefore, look forward to hearing what critics have to say about protagonist Eve’s mission to save humanity and reclaim Earth.
Additionally, the pre-load for Stellar Blade is expected to go live on the PlayStation Store two days prior to launch, on the same day the review embargo will be lifted i.e. April 24, 2024. It will come with the latest update pre-installed for those who pre-ordered a digital copy of the game, though a day one update may be rolled out closer to launch on April 26, 2024. Meanwhile, those who purchased a physical copy of the game will need to download the day one update.
Furthermore, the download size of Stellar Blade is 35 GB, which is relatively modest compared to other PS5 titles. That said, those with limited available space on the internal storage are advised to clear up some space in advance. It goes without saying that storage expansion options are available for those who need them.
Stellar Blade is set for release exclusively on the PS5. It features combat that focuses on understanding enemy attack patterns and countering with precise timing. Players fill Eve’s Beta Gauge by parrying and evading, which can then be spent on various skills like piercing super armor and interrupting enemy combos. Additionally, Eve can build up a Burst Gauge through successive parries and combos to trigger buffs and powerful attacks. Using the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, Stellar Blade incorporates haptic feedback for enhanced immersion during combat and weapon accuracy. The game also offers environmental traversal mechanics such as wall scaling and rope swinging for exploration.
