Stellar Blade Complete Edition will receive a frame generation toggle on Nintendo Switch 2 at launch, allowing players to disable the feature and play the game at its native 30 FPS output. Shift Up confirmed the change after monitoring feedback from players who have tested the game’s Switch 2 demo.
The Switch 2 version uses a hybrid DLSS and FSR 3.1 setup. The game renders at 30 FPS, with DLSS used for image upscaling while AMD’s FSR 3.1 generates additional frames to produce a 60 FPS output.
The approach had raised concerns among players about potential input latency caused by frame generation. Shift Up has now responded by adding an option to turn the feature off. The developer said it had been watching player feedback and wanted to give users a choice over how the game looks and feels.
“Thank you to everyone who has played the Stellar Blade Complete Edition demo on Nintendo Switch 2 so far. We’ve been watching your feedback closely and decided to add a Frame Generation toggle at release. We hope this lets you play the way that looks and feels best to you!” the official StellarBlade account said.
Stellar Blade Complete Edition is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. The release includes the game’s post-launch content, crossover cosmetics and expansions, alongside platform-specific features such as HD Rumble, gyro aiming, and Joy-Con 2 motion controls for activities including fishing.
