Capcom has kicked off Street Fighter 6 Year 4 with the release of Yasmine, the game’s newest playable fighter. Available now across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, Yasmine becomes the first Filipino martial artist to join the Street Fighter roster.
Trained in the Filipino martial art of Eskrima by her grandfather alongside her older brother, Yasmine enters the tournament while searching for her missing sibling. She fights with a Karambit knife, bringing a fast-paced combat style built around rapid strikes, acrobatic movement and extended offensive pressure.
Yasmine is available to players who own the Year 4 Character Pass or Year 4 Ultimate Pass. Her default costume features traditional Eskrima combat gear, while a second outfit places her in a school uniform. The alternate costume can be unlocked by filling her Acquisition Gauge in Avatar Arcade Mode or by purchasing it with Fighter Coins.
According to Capcom, Yasmine’s gameplay focuses on quick attacks that gradually wear down opponents before transitioning into more aggressive offence. Successfully chaining her techniques activates Bayani Mode, an enhanced state that strengthens her fighting capabilities and opens up additional combo opportunities.
Yasmine is the first addition to the Year 4 character lineup, which will also include Arjun, Tifa from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series and Bosch in future updates.
Her launch is accompanied by a balance update affecting the entire playable roster. Capcom has published a full list of character adjustments as part of the latest patch.
Looking ahead, the developer confirmed that The Way of the Oni x The Way of the Fist collaboration event will begin on August 7. During the event, players who log in will receive special colour variations, while the Battle Hub will be redesigned with an Onimusha-inspired theme. A limited-time Street Voter event will also let players vote for their favourite Genma to earn exclusive stickers and camera frames.
Street Fighter 6 has now sold more than 7 million copies worldwide and is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam.
