Capcom has announced two major new modes for Street Fighter 6 arriving on May 28 alongside the release of Ingrid, the final Year 3 character. The update introduces Random Avatar Matches for balanced online battles and Avatar Arcade for faster avatar progression through CPU encounters.
Both modes are designed to expand the game’s avatar-focused content while giving players more ways to unlock rewards, experiment with fighting styles, and earn exclusive customization items. The update also introduces new unlock methods for Outfit 2 costumes and special Fighting Ground colors.
Random Avatar Matches
- Added Random Avatar Matches as a new online Avatar Battle mode
- Introduced Level Sync to standardize levels and base parameters for fairer matches
- Fully unlocked gauge limits and accessory slots during battles
- Enabled access to all master styles, special moves, and Super Arts from the start
- Added the Breakneck Brawler Outfit beginner equipment set for all players
- Added equipment rewards obtainable through battles
- Introduced Avatar Points progression and ranking systems
- Rankings are tracked daily, weekly, monthly, and cumulatively
- Added customizable Battle Settings options, including:
- Matchmaking
- Control Settings
- Title customization
- Challenge customization
- Added exclusive challenge rewards, including special Fighting Ground character colors
- Outfit 2 ownership is required to use the new special colors
Avatar Arcade
- Added Avatar Arcade as a new CPU-focused progression mode
- Introduced two gameplay types:
- Spar with a Master
- Battle Tour
Spar with a Master
- Players can repeatedly battle masters in CPU fights
- Difficulty settings can be adjusted freely
- Higher difficulties improve move-learning speed
- Higher difficulties improve obtainable gear and item quality
Battle Tour
- Players can participate in consecutive battles against masters and World Tour NPCs
- Courses include unlockable rewards and endings from legacy Street Fighter games
- Added unexpected New Challengers during courses
- New Challengers offer increased difficulty and rare item rewards
Avatar Progression Features
- Avatar Arcade improves avatar leveling efficiency
- Special move and Super Art proficiency increase based on defeated masters and equipped styles
- Defeating masters fills their Acquisition Gauge
- Reaching MAX Acquisition Gauge unlocks that master’s Outfit 2
- Outfit 2 can also be unlocked through the Shop or by maximizing bonds in World Tour Mode
