Unknown Worlds has shared its first Early Access roadmap for Subnautica 2, giving players an early look at how the studio plans to support the survival adventure over the coming months. The developer says updates will range from minor improvements and hotfixes to larger content expansions introducing new areas, creatures, vehicles, and story content.
According to the studio, the current focus is on maintaining a steady update cadence throughout Early Access while continuing to shape the game based on player feedback. The first planned update will focus primarily on quality-of-life improvements and system adjustments to refine the overall gameplay experience. The team said it has been working on several fixes and tweaks intended to improve areas that players have already identified as needing attention.
A second update is expected to focus more heavily on co-op play, with Unknown Worlds confirming that requested multiplayer improvements and additions are currently in development. While specific features were not detailed, the studio indicated that community feedback has already played an important role in prioritizing these changes.
Beyond the smaller updates, the developer also confirmed plans for larger expansions during Early Access. These future updates are expected to expand the game world with new biomes, creatures, resources, tools, vehicles, and additional story chapters as development continues.
Unknown Worlds noted that the roadmap itself may change over time as the team continues gathering community input. Players are being encouraged to use the in-game feedback tool and the game’s Nolt suggestion platform to submit ideas and vote on features they would like to see added in future updates.
The studio also confirmed that bug fixes, balancing adjustments, optimizations, and general maintenance patches will continue throughout the Early Access period as developers monitor player feedback and gameplay data.
Subnautica 2 is currently in Early Access, with the development team emphasizing that community involvement will remain central to shaping the final experience.
