Super Mario 3D World Gets Online Multiplayer On Nintendo Switch

Super Mario 3D World is getting ported to the Nintendo Switch but this port also adds new features like online multiplayer and a brand new expansion.

Super Mario fans are in for a ride with plenty of games to look forward to in the coming days. Nintendo has announced a 3D All-Stars collection that brings three fan-favorite classics to the Nintendo Switch. In addition to this, they are also bringing Super Mario 3D World to the Nintendo Switch with all new features.

One of the features is an online multiplayer mode which wasn’t revealed in any gameplay trailer. It was confirmed through a press release that this port will support online multiplayer on the Nintendo Switch.

Here are some details on this new game that were shared in the press release by Nintendo.

Multiplayer mayhem pounces onto Nintendo Switch! This enhanced version of Super Mario 3D World, which originally launched for the Wii U system, features co-op gameplay both online* and through local multiplayer in a variety of creative levels. Additional details about what new things this game has to offer will be revealed later. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury launches for Nintendo Switch on Feb. 12, 2021. New amiibo figures Cat Mario and Cat Peach will also be released at the same time as the game.

While the 3D All-Stars bundle is out on September 18, fans will have to wait a little longer to play this new version of 3D World. It is coming with Bowser’s Fury expansion. Details are slim as of now but this appears to feature plenty of new content.
