Details regarding the online multiplayer feature in Nintendo’s upcoming platformer, Super Mario Bros Wonder, will be announced at a later date.

The Japanese Nintendo web store page for Super Mario Bros Wonder has been updated with new information, including the fact that details regarding the game’s online multiplayer will be revealed at a later date, suggesting that online co-op will be confirmed sometime soon.

The wording makes it seem like it online multiplayer may come post-launch via a title update. However, given that there are nearly two month’s until the game’s release, it may just arrive in time for launch. Regardless, those who were looking to pick up the game for online multiplayer can now rest easy, as online co-op support will happen sometime later.

Super Mario Bros Wonder is an upcoming platform game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. Set for release on October 20, 2023, the game marks the return of the classic side-scrolling Super Mario experience, the likes of which haven’t been seen since New Super Mario Bros. U in 2012.

Players delve into a captivating side-scrolling platformer, embarking as one of six iconic characters—namely Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Toad, and Yoshi. They will traverse through levels within the enchanting Flower Kingdom, aided by its conversing flower-like inhabitants. Much like its predecessors, players over their chosen character towards the level’s end, all while evading adversaries like Goombas and Piranha Plants, and utilizing Warp Pipes for swift transportation. Each stage features an array of collectible “Wonder Seeds”. The game also offers local multiplayer for up to 4 players. Fresh power-ups introduce novel gameplay elements, including a fruit that morphs the player into an elephant, and the enigmatic Wonder Flower, known to trigger extraordinary effects like vitalizing pipes, summoning hordes of enemies, and even altering character appearances.
